The necessity of storage solutions is universal, but Kondo stresses that new products—even those made by her—should only be utilized after a thorough KonMari session. “Everyone shouldn’t just go out and buy all these storage items; that is not the National Champions 2021 Basketball Shirt it is in the first place but order in which this should be undertaken,” she says. “Review, take inventory of what you have in your life and then surround yourself with those that spark joy.
